Lean Transformation Program (LTP)
for industrial waste processing sites in Knarrevik and Mongstad to establish flow, processing batches faster and more efficient than ever before. The team in Knarrevik (near Bergen in Norway) was challenged with incapable processes and inventory overflow. Within 18 months, the team transformed the site from noncompliant to internal benchmark, resulting in 82% reduction in inventory, 31% higher labor productivity (tons per man-hour), at 88% shorter throughput time. Lean best practices were transferred to a newly constructed site for offshore services in Mongstad. It allowed efficient sorting of inbound wastes from offshore oil platforms. Both operations matured from Iron to Bronze level (3.0 on five-point scale) within one year and teams were proud of receiving their Bronze awards, first two within the group.
